Are you going to localize Salary Confidential into other languages?
It’s a fair question — and the answer depends on what we mean by “localization.”
TL;DR: Salary Confidential is already designed to be internationalized by default.
We support regional differences in compensation data and rely on native browser translation for UI localization.
Product screens can be auto-translated by your browser
We’ve reached a point where automated browser translation offers quality high enough to serve most users well.
While quality varies by language pair, for major languages the difference between automatic and human-provided UI translation is now small.
That’s why we prioritize improving core features over managing separate, static language versions.
Our feature design is internationalized by default
Beyond screen copy, several aspects of the platform are explicitly localized:
- Poll models reflect regional variations in compensation structure.
- Currencies: Any currency can be chosen for any poll model — read more about this here.
- Outreach interviews: while the interview fields ask questions in English, you can respond to the outreach interview and generate outreach messages in any language you choose. We support this through OpenAI’s GPT API, which covers virtually every major language.
As Salary Confidential grows, we’ll continue evaluating whether each new feature requires built-in internationalization.
But for now, browser translation and design-by-default internationalization make separate language versions unnecessary.
We'd love to hear about specific regional data points we should add in our question sets
We're definitely more familiar with the questions that users in North America would have about compensation packages. And there's no doubt we're missing things for our various regional models
So please do reach out to us, customer-help@salaryconfidential.com, and let us know what you think we should add to our question sets. We can make additions quickly, too, so please don't hesitate
